PATIENTS RIGHTS

As a patient at Dallaa General Hospital you have the right to:

  1. Receive impartial access to treatment that is medically indicated regardless of your nationality, age, race, gender, religion, physical or mental disabilities, and source of payment for care. 
  2. Receive care in a safe environment free from all forms of abuse or harassment.
  3. Receive and know all the information and explanations that are related to your medical condition, health status, and the proposed course of treatment, the tests and the operations that are going to be done, and the expected benefits and outcomes.
  4. Personal privacy and confidentiality of all communication, information and records pertaining to your care. Access to such information is only authorized to staff concerned with your treatment plan. Your written permission will be obtained before information is given to anyone not directly connected with your care
  5. Know the names of the physicians, nurses and other healthcare team members who are directly involved in your care.
  6. Choose the physician(s) who will be treating you and participate in any decision regarding your care when medically possible.
  7. Refuse treatment to the extent permitted by law and be informed of the medical consequences of this refusal.
  8. Consult any specialist physician based on your request.   
  9. Receive a plan that specifies how to follow up on your health care after discharge, together with the necessary instructions that you should follow.  
  10. Leave the hospital against your physician’s advice. However, if you decide to do so, you will be requested to sign a “Discharge against Medical Advice” form. Consequently the hospital and the physicians will not be responsible for any medical consequence that may arise. 
  11. Welcome guests at patient rooms according to the hospitals visiting hours & regulation.
  12. Review and receive explanation of your bill



RESPONSIBILITIES

As a patient at Dallaa General Hospital you are expected to:
  1. Provide to the best of your knowledge, accurate and complete information about your health, including present complaints, medications taken, past illness or hospitalization and any other issue pertaining to your health.
  2. Follow the treatment plan and instructions of your physician as well as the instructions of nurses as they carry out your physician’s orders. In the case in that a patient is not able to abide by the treatment plan and instructions of the physician, the attending physician must be informed and the patient is to accept responsibility for any medical consequence should you choose not to follow your physician’s orders or refuse treatment.
  3. Seek clarification from your physician or your healthcare team when you do not understand what you have been told about your diagnosis or treatment.
  4. Follow the hospital established rules and regulations regarding patient care and conduct.
  5. Abide by the No Smoking policy.
  6. Treat all hospital staff, patients and visitors with respect.
  7. Preserve the hospital, other patients and the visitors’ properties. 
  8. Abide by the allowed visiting hours and the number of visitors in your room, and tell your visitors to respect them in order to ensure the rights and comfort of all patients.
  9. Secure financial coverage of your hospitalization.
